Its Getting Scot in Here by Suzanne Enoch Book Review by Frost At Midnite

Book Review – It’s Getting Scot in Here by Suzanne Enoch

I did a blog tour for It’s Getting Scot in Here a few days back. And now here is the review!

Romance, in general, is either a very feel-good read making you sigh with gravity every now and then. Or it becomes a tale which makes you cry while reading and then later even as you remember it. But thanks to authors like Suzanne Enoch, we can sigh with a bit of joy and enjoy ourselves while we read their books. I’d already written about the premise of the book which is the entire prologue. I couldn’t wait to read the book. Thanks to the good folks at St. Martin’s Press, I got a copy.

And I enjoyed it thoroughly. We have three brothers caught up in an agreement between their parents. They each have to wed an English woman or their mother cuts off their purse strings. And they have to do so before their sister is wed. On discovering this condition to keeping their legacy Coll, Aden and Niall rush to London. They are set on finding a way out of this mess, without giving up their estate. But their mother has already chosen a bride, Amelia, for her eldest son, Coll. Needless to say, Coll is disinterested and plays a boor. Amelia, on the other hand, is witty and fails to faint at Coll’s rudeness.

Playing the peacemaker, the youngest brother, Niall steps in. Even as he escorts Amelia pointing out Coll’s virtues, he falls in love with his brother’s intended. An additional mess that they to deal with now.

But all’s well that ends well. The sons who came to town despising their mother, now hold her with a not-so-little amount of respect as she manages to smooth all tangles and stop all scandal. It is always nice to read about the entire family coming together to plot and win and the day.

It’s Getting Scot in Here is an absolute joy to read with its characters (even Rory), plot and the situations that sometimes seem hopeless. Suzanne Enoch always works some sort of magic into her books. I have read her previous books and those series were absolutely enjoyable. One can’t help but want to read the other instalments of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series asap!
